I FINALLY SEE

Emotional debris from a torrent rain
that invaded my soul seeped out of my eyes
and unto my heaving chest,
wet with regret, confusion, and disillusionment.

The darkest hour before the hopeful sunset
seemed never to come.
But like the night is destined to end
in morning sunlight,

I finally see
I finally see
So clear to me
Now I believe

The sun cast its warmth on my tired shoulders and encouraged me back to life.
That sunlight dried the tears in my eyes,
I knew in my chest, I did my best, I felt strong, when I was once weak, just then
my mouth opened, to speak.

The darkest hour before the hopeful sunset
seemed never to come.
But like the night is destined to end
in morning sunlight

I finally see
I finally see
So clear to me
Now I believe

Speak of your truths
stay on it now
you know you can’t go back to lying
No!
